Chapter Philanthropy

The Epsilon Lambda Chapter seeks to further the Ossian Everett Mills Music Mission in Athens by routinely visiting places in the community like nursing homes and hospitals to sing and share music. It is the chapter's goal to provide these parts of the community with music, entertainment, and fellowship, that we might advance music in America in concordance with our noble object.

Each year, the Epsilon Lambda chapter holds the Olin G. Parker composition competition, the prize being a commemorative scholarship in the amount of $500. The competition will be open to music majors who have completed one full year at the university and will be in school for at least one additional year.

Additionally, in the spring of each academic year, the Epsilon Lambda chapter holds auditions to award the Edwin Gerschefski Scholarship, a performance-based memorial award in the amount of $500. Auditions are open to music majors who have completed one full year at the university and will be in school for at least one additional year.
